SAN FRANCISCO (November 1, 2016) – Talent Board, a non-profit organisation focused on the promotion and benchmark research of a quality candidate experience, today announced the 50 winners of the 2016 North American Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards. These 50 winners were found to provide their job candidates with an exemplary candidate experience as defined by the candidates themselves.
“Since 2011, Talent Board has sought to evaluate and honor the companies representing excellence in candidate experience, and each year we are extremely encouraged by the tremendous progress companies have made in creating a positive, transparent and insightful process,” said Elaine Orler, co-founder and chairman of Talent Board and CEO of Talent Function. “The 50 organisations designated as 2016 Candidate Experience Award winners are leaders in engaging their candidates from the first interaction through onboarding. We applaud these companies for setting an example for their peers and more importantly, valuing their candidates as humans and recognising that their experience matters.”
The 2016 North American CandE Awards set a new program record, with more than 240 participating companies eager to put their recruiting practices under the microscope, and over 183,000 job seekers sharing their thoughts and experiences as candidates. The 50 winning companies were identified through a blind data analysis based on their candidate survey scores. Focused on the candidates’ direct responses to ‘likely to apply again,’ ‘likely to refer a friend’ and overall ratings, the scoring created value ranking for systematically identifying the strongest companies and ultimately, this year’s winners. To qualify, each company had to commit to a statistically significant candidate response, and the proportion of respondents not hired also had to exceed a set standard. No other candidate experience research effort meets these strict standards.
More than an awards competition, the CandE Awards also serve as a benchmarking program to raise awareness of the benefits of a positive candidate experience and highlight the tools, technology and techniques that can facilitate the process, as demonstrated by winning companies.
The 50 companies identified as winners of the 2016 North American CandE Awards are:

“Candidates today are more empowered than ever – they know what a positive candidate experience should be, and won’t hesitate to share their impressions of an organisation’s recruiting experience with their peers if it leaves them underwhelmed or frustrated,” said Heidi Soltis-Berner, managing director, Evolving Workforce, Deloitte Services LP. “Deloitte strives to continually improve and bring new innovations into our candidate experience, ensuring all candidates, whether hired or not, are informed throughout the process and have a positive impression of our brand. We are thrilled that our candidates have rated their experiences with us so highly and delighted to be named a CandE Award winner for the sixth time.” Two organisations, Deloitte and Risk Management Solutions (RMS), stand out as winners for all 6 years of the awards program. As more employers compete for the recognition, this accomplishment sets these companies apart as they continuously provide their job applicants with an exemplary candidate experience.
“A successful recruiting strategy for RMS involves much more than finding the best talent for our company. How we treat candidates throughout the entire recruitment process, especially those not selected, can have a lasting impact on our employer brand and reputation. Many times our candidates become our customers if they decide to join one of our client organisations,” said Gail Jacobs, senior director of Talent Acquisition and HR Operations of RMS. “The RMS talent acquisition team has designed our recruiting processes with a candidate-first approach through each step. This methodology has clearly resonated with our candidates, and we are incredibly grateful to have this recognised year after year.”
The winners will be formally recognised and celebrated at the 2016 North American Awards Gala, taking place during the Recruiting Trends Conference on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Hilton in Austin, Texas.
Talent Board will publish the annual aggregate North American CandE data results and report in early 2017, representing the 2016 “Benchmark” for Candidate Experience. The full report will be available on a complimentary basis to all interested employers and organisations.
