The 60 minute conversation covered a wide spectrum of challenges and opportunities relating to the use of AI in Talent Acquisition, including some of the basic ‘checklist’ items to keep in mind when considering AI, how to effectively communicate a shift to AI technology to internal stakeholders, and a top level overview of some of the legal and ethical considerations around the use of AI technology.

About Matissa Hollister
Matissa Hollister is an assistant professor of Organizational Behavior at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University. Her research focuses on the changing nature of work and careers in developed countries since the 1970s, including the impact of technological change on work. She is also studying the growing use of machine learning in recruitment and hiring processes and teaches a related course in People Analytics. Professor Hollister earned a Master of City Planning from MIT followed by a PhD in Sociology and Social Policy at Harvard University. She is currently serving as a Fellow at the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in San Francisco in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Platform.
About Susannah Wilkinson
With a passion for issues at the intersection of law and technology, Susannah is the Digital Law Lead for APAC at Herbert Smith Freehills driving digital transformation of law through the development of smart legal contracts. The Digital Law Group is a global team of specialist lawyers providing legal advice and innovative solutions in conjunction with HSF’s multidisciplinary teams. About Fang Chen
Distinguished Professor Fang Chen is a prominent leader in AI/data science with an international reputation and industrial recognition. She has created and deployed many innovative solutions using AI/data science to transform industries worldwide and actively doing research and development on ethical AI Assurance Framework and has more than 300 publications and 30 patents in 8 countries, delivering many public speeches including TEDx.

Siobhan is an award-winning HR leader. For almost two decades, Siobhan worked across the UK, Ireland, Middle East, South East Asia, China, Australia and New Zealand and delivered the workforce behind some of Australia’s largest billion-dollar projects including the Melbourne Metro, Roy Hill, W2B and Sydney Metro.
