Name: Oliver Spiers

Name one interesting fact about yourself. 

I’m more likely to remember your phone number than your name!

 In one sentence, what frustration or challenge does your talent innovation solve?

We seek not to replace the human element of talent but to ‘smooth out the curve’ by taking away the transactional elements, leaving people to do what they enjoy and probably do best.

 What’s the secret recipe for true innovation?

It’s about taking a complicated process and making it look, and be easy to engage with. I would also say it’s something that people need, but just don’t know it yet. When it arrives and used, then people cannot do without it!

Outside of the talent space, what’s your favourite gadget or innovative product?

EFTPOS payments. I really, really dislike carrying change in my pockets. 

Who would play you in the movie version of your life and why?

Tom Hardy. He has the ability to play two personality types in one person. And I’d love to be buff and good looking in real life. I was trying to avoid saying, Daniel Craig!

In one sentence, what frustration or challenge does your talent innovation solve?

We provide the latest in psychometric measurement that is pleasant to experience.

Did you consider yourself an Innovator or Inventor before this?

Yes as a kid I used to really think I was a scientist. Collecting various herbs and leaves to make teas… Building contraptions… Trying to solve the time space continuum…

 What’s the secret recipe for true innovation?

Passion. Shared Vision. Fluidity. Curiosity. Comfort in uncertainty. The sum of all parts plus a little bit of magic.

Outside of the talent space, what’s your favourite gadget or innovative product?

Fiddle cube.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life and why?

Will Ferrell. Similar build.

I don’t ever get hangovers no matter how much I drink!

In one sentence, what frustration or challenge does your talent innovation solve?

Candidate experience and application conversion.

 What’s the secret recipe for true innovation?

Persistence and endurance.

Outside of the talent space, what’s your favourite gadget or innovative product?

My new iPad, on which I can now draw.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life and why?

Liam Neeson – I like his voice!

 Did you consider yourself an inventor or an innovator before this?

I am both an inventor and innovator – I have had a cabinet making business, been an outdoor guide, delivered some industry changing projects and currently run several other businesses.

In one sentence, what frustration or challenge does your talent innovation solve?

Helping organisations achieve more with less.

 What’s the secret recipe for true innovation?

Curiosity + passion + belief x perseverance.

Outside of the talent space, what’s your favourite gadget or innovative product?

Autonomous vehicles.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life and why?

Naturally – it would be Ryan Gosling.
