ATC2018: Thriving with A.I.

The New Talent Skills You Need

Talent Acquisition (TA) is on the cusp of a new wave of innovation and the 12th Australasian Talent Conference will be shining the light brightly on it – say hi to Artificial Intelligence (A.I.).

ATC2018 will focus on three areas:

1.  What A.I. is and how it will alter what you do

What it can and cannot do; tangible examples of how organisations are using it; access vendors and technologies leading in this space.

2.  Examine how and where A.I. can be applied to your TA function

How you can strategically position yourself and your TA function to thrive from this A.I. invasion.

3.  Explore the makeup of the new TA professional

We will be sharing what the roles, skills and competencies of the new TA professional looks like, as well as the training required to bridge the gap. While many parts of the recruiting and talent management cycle may be automated, or at least augmented, by the new tools and processes, there is still a great deal that will be left for us humans to cope with.

You will walk away with a tangible understanding of A.I.’s role as well as the actual new skills you will need once it disrupts your role.

So, are you ready to make A.I. your new workmate and develop the skills needed for the new human recruiter?

Meet Our Speakers!

James Williams

Head of Talent Acquisition - Australia & New Zealand, Johnson & Johnson

Case Study: Improving the candidate experience journey through feedback and benchmark data

For Johnson & Johnson, 2017 was the year of the candidate. It was an opportunity for the TA function to better understand how their processes were viewed on the external market and how this was impacting their candidates. This started their journey to discover how we could improve their candidate experience and address the real life challenges that their future employees were experiencing. James will share the stage with Kevin Grossman, Talent Board’s President of Global Programs, in this session to share how important gathering candidate feedback is and their journey so far.

Andy Riabokin

Customer Success Leader & Master Trainer, Hiretual

Workshop: Hello A.I. Enabled Sourcing, Goodbye Boolean Expert

Expert sourcing was once for Boolean logic experts – carefully crafting stings and executing searches across a multitude of platforms. But that’s no longer the case! Today, A.I. produces the same results instantaneously but also does the screening and benchmarking for you, making everyone an expert Sourcer. Are you ready to put your feet up as your Sourcing Assistant operates 24/7 with 10X faster results? Join Andy to find out more.

Teresa Collis

Head of Global Recruitment Marketing and Competency & Culture Development, Siemens

Breakout: The challenge of human connection at scale

How can you get personal at scale? Siemens’ Head of Global Recruitment Marketing, Teresa Collis, discusses how the adoption of video has allowed her team to achieve that, all the while ensuring that their brand values of innovation and authenticity continue to stand out. However, rolling out this new technology globally was not without its challenges and Teresa will be sharing some of the issues she faced and how she overcame them.

Raquel Lemon

Talent Acquisition Manager, Vicinity Centres

Case Study: Leading Talent transformation using influencing & storytelling

You are new, your organisation is undergoing major disruption, and you realise everything that you know about Talent, growth and transformation no longer apply – what do you do? In this session, Raquel will share how she overcame these challenges using skills and strategies that are not from your typical Talent Acquisition playbook.

Dr Jason Fox

Wizard-rogue, Keynote Speaker & Leadership Adviser, The Cleverness

Keynote: How to Lead a Quest

Has your organisation become Cursed with Efficiency? We’re all so busy that we seek quick fixes, aka defaults, to save us time, incrementally innovating without realising these things may be leading us toward irrelevance. Jason will show you how to augment your existing strategy by leading quests, so that we stay the path towards enduring relevance!

Aubrey Blanche

Global Head of Diversity & Belonging, Atlassian

Raising the Bar – How Atlassian Attracts More Qualified & Diverse Candidates with Data

In a short span of 2 years, Atlassian has improved it’s hiring of women in technical roles by 80% while simultaneously increasing the representation of employees over 40 and those from ethnic minority groups. Aubrey will show you how to leverage on data to build a balance & diverse team at scale effectively and share some of the tools you can use.

Jonathan Kestenbaum

Managing Director, Talent Tech Labs

Artificial Intelligence: Separating Hype from Reality

With so many tools using A.I. entering the Talent market and in a space few of us deeply understand, what we really need is a tour guide. As mentor for over 1,500 Talent start-ups in the U.S., Jonathan is perfectly placed to share his insights on what’s hot in the A.I. space. Join him!

Dr Amantha Imber

Founder & CEO, Inventium

The Science of Innovation

The ability to create a culture of innovation is key to growing a business.  Hooray! Something the bots can’t do. Well actually, most humans don’t know how to either. This interactive session will test your intuition against science & you’ll learn a scientifically proven method giving you the edge in the innovative new world of work.

Rob McIntosh

Chief Ai Evangelist, Olivia by Paradox.ai

A.I. for Recruitment: What does it mean & how it’s helping Talent functions today

Artificial Intelligence is generally misunderstood – from the fear it will take our jobs through to the idea that it will magically solve all of our problems. Rob’s keynote will explore what A.I. in recruiting can and can’t do, and provide you with real examples of how it can help you solve your recruiting challenges.

David Curry

Head of Talent Operations, Commonwealth Bank

Breakout: Creating an automated selection experience that treats your candidates as people, not numbers

Candidates want to be treated as people, not numbers, gaining a return on the time they’ve invested in applying for your role. Sounds familiar but not sure how to do that? David will share how he has combined candidate-centred design thinking, business engagement, automation, and an agile approach to solve this challenge, and how you can apply the learning to your own organisation.

Air Commodore Sue McGready, CSC

Director General Defence Force Recruiting, Australian Defence Force

Human Solutions for the Skills Revolution

Sue shares the stage with Kate Donovan, ManpowerGroup’s President Global RPO, to discuss the growing importance of identifying human strengths in the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) recruitment process – including traditional soft skills like communication, collaboration and creativity, as well as uniquely human traits like empathy, relationship-building, cognitive ability and the desire to learn. You will also hear how the ADF has partnered with ManpowerGroup to recruit their brightest and best for more than 14 years through a public-private collaboration called Defence Force Recruiting (DFR).

Tanya Cook

Group Manager, People & Culture, Probuild

Breakout: Delivering organisational growth strategy through data-driven talent management

A key challenge for many organisations is aligning their people strategy with their organisational strategy. In this session, Tanya shares the stage with Mark Do, Director, Talent (Organisational Psychologist) from Peter Berry Consulting (PBC), to discuss how Probuild uses a multi-metrics approach to Talent identification and development, based around PBC’s Talent Codex framework. This innovative approach has enabled HR to drive the people capability agenda to ensure Probuild delivers on their business objectives.
