Talent Acquisition Leader - Transformation & Contingent Workforce @ Lion

Julian began his professional career having completed multiple ski seasons in the French Alps and falling into HR and recruitment as a result. Shortly before moving to Australia he joined a large Architecture and Engineering firm in London as their Lead Recruiter where he honed his skills in talent attraction and sourcing. Post arrival into Sydney in 2006 he joined OneSteel (now Arrium) where he worked for 3.5 years as one of the recruitment team leaders.

Being afforded a new opportunity in 2011, Julian joined Lion (or Lion Nathan National Foods as it was back then), the multi-beverage, multi-channel food & beverage company best known for brands such as Dairy Farmers, Dare Iced Coffee, Tooheys and XXXX Gold amongst a wealth of others.

In six years, Julian has worked his way through Lion’s Talent Acquisition team in recruitment & sourcing roles through to more recently heading up anything not BAU recruitment. This is how he found opportunities in the way Lion managed their contingent labour, amongst delivering on other initiatives such as supporting an org wide Transformation program with their recruitment strategy and setting up a Redeployment Centre in order to retain talent through periods of organisational change.

An authentic leader, Julian simply loves people and helping get the best out of everyone. Customer Experience is at the core of everything he does and he is energised by supporting people to develop and learn. Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan, a loyal England supporter and tragic golfer.
