Ian O. Williamson is the Helen Macpherson Smith Chair of Leadership for Social Impact at the Melbourne Business School (MBS), Melbourne, Australia. He currently serves as the Associate Dean of International Relations at MBS and is also the Faculty Director of MBS Executive MBA (EMBA) program and the Co-Director of the Asia Pacific Social Impact Centre. He is an Associated Scholar of the Lorange Institute of Business Zurich (Switzerland) and Rutgers Business School (USA). He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA) and a bachelor’s degree in business from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio USA).
In his role as Associate Dean and Director of the Social Impact Leadership Centre, Prof. Williamson’s focus is on developing effective cross-sector partnerships to address key economic and social issues across the Asia Pacific region. Prof. Williamson’s research focuses on how the development of effective “talent pipelines” can enhance organizational and community outcomes. His research has been published in several leading international journals and has been featured in several leading media outlets across the world. Dr Williamson has worked with executives on six continents in many different countries providing consulting services in the areas of strategic human resource management, managing organizational change, employee recruitment and retention, and executive coaching.
