Staying Relevant In Times Of Dynamic Change

I recently attended the ERE Conference in San Diego. The theme of this year’s event was “A Bold Approach to Talent Acquisition Management & Leadership”. I met lots of interesting people and I wanted to introduce you to two new contacts I made, Matt Jeffrey the VP Head of Global Sourcing & Employment Branding for SAP and Jenny Gizzi, Head of Talent Acquisition, Commercial at Bristol-Myers Squibb, who were kind enough to allow me to interview them.
In Matt Jeffrey’s short interview he discussed why recruitment is marketing and shares tips on how organisations can source critical and scarce staff. Jenny Gizzi has taken the bold step of restructuring her team and stopping them undertaking transactional recruitment.

Part of what I adore about my job is attending well run interesting conferences in our field of work. This is a huge part of my learning and development. At the same time, I increase my network giving me the ability to exchange ideas and continue to grow and learn.
Given the dynamic nature of our industry I see professional development as critical. When we design our ATC events we consider how our delegates can learn and grow. I am sure many of you have heard me ask you “who would you like to meet at the ATC and what would you like to learn?”.
If you’re curious and want to gain some thought provoking ideas from Matt Jeffery and Jenny Gizzi, I recommend watching these interviews here and here, or reading the transcripts on the ATCHub. It will only take 4 minutes of your time. I also recommend that you then sit back and consider the ideas gained.

ATC Events is calling on HR professionals in Australia and New Zealand to participate in our 2015 study on Cost-Per-Hire. This study will look at how Acquisition Functions in our region  measure and report on their Cost-Per-Hire data, in relation to permanent hires. Information collected in the survey will be compiled into a report which we will share in June.
