There’s something electric that happens when we share space and ideas with people in real time.
We are all trying solve similar problems yet when we work in isolation we limit the potential of our thinking.
We’ve designed Talent Day Out to not only reconnect the community but also share, co-create and leverage the power of the collective.
The challenges we face are simply far too complex to solve alone. We’ll go further, think better, feel deeper and deliver stronger together.

Day 1: 16th February, 20222:40 pm - 3:00 pmStrengths Based Hiring in 2021
Lucy Campbell - Cappfinity
Strengths are the things that we do well and find energising and it is widely recognised that people who are recruited and developed on the basis of strengths deliver higher performance in roles and are more productive and successful in achieving their goals.
What are the are these new skills and strengths and how are they identified?
Lucy will share the findings from a deep 21,000 profile comparison study on what strengths have emerged as critical for the 2021 and beyond workforce as well as how to identify and measure in our people and new hires. Then we’ll discuss in groups how this may impact our own changing workforces.
Day 1: 16th February, 20223:00 pm - 3:45 pmThe Evolution of Meritocracy to Equitable Design
Nicola Harrison - RMIT
What ‘’good’’ looks needs to be updated because we don’t live in that world anymore. Equality presumes that everyone starts at the same place and, with equal measure, can achieve comparable success. Without realising it, TA functions are obsessed with a version of Meritocracy that is the natural enemy of Equity. Nicola Harrison, Director of Talent & Inclusion at RMIT will share her thinking, winnings, failings and learnings in her work on the evolution of meritocracy, moving the focus from quantity to quality and the beginnings of equitable design.
Day 1: 16th February, 20223:45 pm - 4:40 pmThe Exceptional Debate
The Exceptional Debate (far better and different to Great!) is a dynamic, interactive (dare we say almost performative) session that serves as a vehicle to explore an idea and challenge previous perceptions.
The theme (Talent/Workforce related) is announced, teams are formed through self-selection and winners decided by audience participation. How many people can you turn? Will you be turned? Your opening thinking may even lead you to abandon your own team and position…
Join us as we share stories and enjoy deep, light and hilarious inspection of one big idea. No, we can’t tell you what it is, that would be cheating.
Day 1: 16th February, 20224:40 pm - 5:30 pmEnjoy drinks and social togetherness
