There’s something electric that happens when we share space and ideas with people in real time.
We are all trying solve similar problems yet when we work in isolation we limit the potential of our thinking.
We’ve designed Talent Day Out to not only reconnect the community but also share, co-create and leverage the power of the collective.
The challenges we face are simply far too complex to solve alone. We’ll go further, think better, feel deeper and deliver stronger together.
Day 1: 10th February, 202210:50 am - 12:40 pmIdea Exchange

2. Internal Mobility – Whose job is it anyway?
3. Vaccination Policies – How companies are approaching returning to the office
4. Skills Shortage – How do you access talent the business needs in today’s world?
5. Employer Branding – How moving back to the office may impact your brand
6. Salary & DEI – How current salary demands are affecting the Female & Diverse Pay Gap
7. Talent Advisory – What do you do to move from recruitment to Talent advisory?
8. Aligning TA to Business Drivers – How connected is your TA strategy to key business drivers/pillars

Day 1: 10th February, 20222:40 pm - 3:00 pmStrengths Based Hiring in 2021
Lucy Campbell - Cappfinity
Strengths are the things that we do well and find energising and it is widely recognised that people who are recruited and developed on the basis of strengths deliver higher performance in roles and are more productive and successful in achieving their goals.
What are the are these new skills and strengths and how are they identified?
Lucy will share the findings from a deep 21,000 profile comparison study on what strengths have emerged as critical for the 2021 and beyond workforce as well as how to identify and measure in our people and new hires. Then we’ll discuss in groups how this may impact our own changing workforces.
Day 1: 10th February, 20223:00 pm - 3:45 pmThe Merit Myth
Nicola Harrison - RMIT
Somewhere along the way we became obsessed with the idea of merit. Touted as an ideal that allows the best to stand out from the rest, merit is often used as little more than a smokescreen to stifle diversity of people and thought within organisations. But merit is based on an idea of equality that presumes everyone starts at the same place, and that the only thing standing between them and success is hard work and elbow grease. Without realising it, TA functions have become obsessed with a version of Meritocracy that is the natural enemy equity, growth, and diversity.
Nicola Harrison, Director at Therefore Talent will take us through how to dismantle our preconceived concepts of merit and work towards more equitable models of valuation.
Day 1: 10th February, 20223:45 pm - 4:40 pmThe Exceptional Debate
The Exceptional Debate (far better and different to Great!) is a dynamic, interactive (dare we say almost performative) session that serves as a vehicle to explore an idea and challenge previous perceptions.
The theme (Talent/Workforce related) is announced, teams are formed through self-selection and winners decided by audience participation. How many people can you turn? Will you be turned? Your opening thinking may even lead you to abandon your own team and position…
Join us as we share stories and enjoy deep, light and hilarious inspection of one big idea. No, we can’t tell you what it is, that would be cheating.
Day 1: 10th February, 20224:40 pm - 5:30 pmEnjoy drinks and social togetherness
