Anthony Sork

Anthony Sork is Founder and Managing Director of executive coaching consultancy, Sork HC, and the creator of the world’s first patented Employment Attachment Inventory (EAI), a tool used by leading organisations to measure attachment, reduce attrition and increase performance of new employees.

Anthony founded Sork HC more than a decade ago and has a wealth of experience in developing senior executives and high potential talent across Australasia, the UK and the USA. He is an engaging speaker and passionate writer on leadership and Human Capital issues and through this work he has helped individuals and leadership teams, across a variety of industries, achieve sustainable high performance.

Anthony has been awarded two Australian Patents for his research and development in social psychology for Employee Attachment and Engagement and has helped his clients receive many awards including; Best Employer and Employer of Choice. Prior to Sork HC, Anthony held various senior executive positions in Australia and the UK.

He holds a Bachelor degree with majors in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology and has further qualifications in Adult Education, Training and Assessment Systems and Human Resources. Anthony recently commenced his PhD studies in Organisational Psychology.

David Als

David has been working in recruitment for almost a decade, specialising in employer branding in both the undergraduate and experienced-hire space.

He began his career with Global Asset Management (UBS), London in the late nineties developing their internal and external communications. Upon moving to Australia from London in 2001, he commenced worked for Shell where he became the Marketing Manager for Recruitment during which time he received several accolades. Upon relocating to Sydney he began working at Macquarie Group Limited where he was tasked with managing their Graduate Recruitment Program, and consolidating the brand across the different business groups and global regions.

David now works as a Talent Attraction Strategist for Human Capital Management Solutions (HCMS) where he works with a wide array of clients from a consulting and training perspective. His key focus is to develop pipelines of current and future talent through various sourcing and segmenting techniques, including the application of innovative engagement methodologies to engage and enthuse potential candidates about the employer brand. Building these talent communities relies not just on utilising Web 2.0 technologies and Social/Business media sites but understanding candidates’ motivations and aligning these to the Company’s Candidate Value Proposition (CVP).

Most recently he was seconded to Ernst & Young where he was responsible for the management and implementation of Talent Communities and building their internal Sourcing Function. A keen advocate of remote working, he now works between Los Angeles and Sydney,

David has spoken at various conferences including the Marcus Evans War for Talent seminars, various Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) conferences and the Australasian Talent Conference.

David Carman

David is one of the owners and directors of CarmanWhite. David is a renowned facilitator, management consultant, and business educator. David is a grounded, genuine and goal orientated person who has personally led over 375 workshops, trained and coached over 8,000 executives, managers and staff.

David specialises in transformational learning, with 16 years' experience in successfully increasing the capability of local and international businesses. David is very passionate about making workplaces a better place to be and expanding the level of self awareness of leaders, managers and staff.

Dr. John Sullivan

Dr. John Sullivan is renowned the world over as a provocateur and strategist in the field of human resources and talent management. For more than 30 years he has offered his critique and insight to professionals seeking to develop a true competitive advantage for their organisation through strategic talent management planning and practices. As an author, corporate advisor, public speaker, and educator, Dr. Sullivan has established a body of work including numerous books and more than 700 articles that serve as a key resource for functional leaders and line managers when developing and implementing best practices. Glen Cathey

Glen Cathey has over 15 years of experience in the recruiting and staffing industry and currently serves as the Market Vice President for Kforce, a large publicly traded staffing firm in the United States.

When not working a recruiting desk, Glen has recruited, trained and managed highly productive teams of up to 24 recruiters responsible for 700 – 900 hires per year. Throughout his career, Glen has trained hundreds of Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, Clinical Research, and Health Information Management recruiters nationally that are responsible for over 30,000 hires annually.

In addition to training recruiters, Glen also presents at conferences (LinkedIn Talent Connect 2010 & 2011, ATC SourcEvent, SourceCon 2010, 2011 & 2012) and to companies (Intel, Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton, AstraZeneca, Humana, Continental Airlines, Citigroup) on how to effectively leverage technology and social media in recruiting.

Glen is extremely passionate about leveraging technology (applicant tracking systems, social networks, job board resume databases, and the Internet) for talent identification and acquisition, and is considered a thought leader in human capital data information retrieval and analysis, including Boolean and semantic search.

Greg Savage

Greg is the founder and driving force behind Firebrand Talent Search. Over a career spanning thirty years, he has established himself as an icon of the Australian recruitment industry and is a regular keynote speaker at staffing and recruitment conferences around the world.

After graduating with honours in Psychology, Greg's early career saw him manage the London office of the United Kingdom's largest accounting recruiter for two years. In the early 1980s he returned to Australia to run the Sydney office of Accountancy Placements (now the Hays Group), where he was invited to join the board of directors at age 27.

Greg founded Recruitment Solutions in 1987 and rapidly built the start-up into a company of over 200 staff and annual sales of $60,000,000. Recruitment Solutions was successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in July 1998 with Greg at its helm as both Executive Director and COO.

April 2001 saw Greg join Aquent as Asia-Pacific CEO. Four years later in 2005, he was promoted to Aquent International CEO and assumed responsibility for all Aquent businesses outside of North America, which then comprised of over 25 offices across Europe, Asia and Australasia.

In recognition of his contribution to the Australian recruitment industry, Greg was made an Honorary Life Member of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association (RCSA) in 2004. As an active social media enthusiast, Greg's industry blog - The Savage Truth - is a must-read for recruitment consultants, while his Twitter feed similarly attracts thousands of followers from around the world.

Greg is undeniably respected by the industry he has helped shape over three decades. With Firebrand he continues to influence and develop this industry for the better.

Jennifer Dalitz

Jen Dalitz is the Founder and SheEO of sphinxx and Australia's thought leader on gender balance.

Jen is obsessed with getting more women into leadership roles, in our workplaces and communities and writes, speaks, mentors and consults on topics related to working women and gender balance. Jen’s expertise in this space has been recognised with an Edna Ryan Workplace Award for improving the working conditions of Australian women, and selection as a finalist in the 2010 NSW Telstra Business Awards.

In 2010 Jen was invited by the Malaysian Minister of Women to speak at her annual Summit in Kuala Lumpur - one of only two international key note speakers on the program – and also represented Australia in a BBC global debate on the advancement of women and the Millennium Goals.

An avid commentator, Jen is regularly featured in media publications such as BRW, The Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Daily Telegraph, The Age, Courier Mail, Adelaide Now, Sun Herald, In The Black, The National Accountant, Management Today, Marie Claire, Madison, Working Women and Latte, to name a few and on TV including Lateline Business, The Finance Quarter and Sky News Channel on issues relating to women in leadership.

Prior to founding sphinxx, Jen’s career in finance and consulting spanned 16 years, international borders and a host of Fortune 500 companies. As an executive and business consultant she experienced first hand the challenges women face as they climb the corporate ladder; and the impact on the bottom line when female talent is under-utilised.

Kevin Wheeler

Kevin is one of the initiators of this event, a globally known speaker, author, teacher and consultant in human capital acquisition and development, as well as in corporate education. Kevin started his own company, Global Learning Resources in 1998 out of his passionate belief that organisations need a more powerful and thoughtful architecture for talent than they have. At Global Learning Resources, Kevin has worked with clients such as Sun Microsystems, Eli Lilly and PricewaterhouseCoopers to develop comprehensive talent acquisition processes and procedures.

After a 25 year career in corporate America serving as the Senior Vice President for Staffing and Workforce Development at the Charles Schwab Corporation, the Vice President of Human Resources for Alphatec Electronics, Inc. in Thailand, and in a variety of human resources roles at National Semiconductor Corporation, Kevin had firsthand knowledge of the need for better strategies and approaches to finding, developing and retaining people.

Kevin is also the author of numerous articles on human resource development, career development, recruiting, and on establishing corporate universities. He is a frequent speaker at conferences. He writes a weekly Internet column on recruiting and staffing, which can be found at www.erexchange.com, and pens a monthly column for Corporate University News magazine. He serves as adjunct faculty at San Jose State University, the University of San Francisco and on the business faculty at San Francisco State University.

 Kevin Wheeler

Master Burnett

Master Burnett currently serves as the managing director of Dr. John Sullivan & Associates, where he advises global 2000 companies on the implementation of world-class HR programs to support growth strategies. In this role, Master Burnett also leads all research initiatives that benchmark key HR program performance in leading corporations around the globe.

Prior to joining Dr. Sullivan, Master served as the director of client services and corporate marketing for the Silicon Talent Corporation, a professional recruiting services and advisory firm focusing on early stage ventures in biotechnology, telecommunications, and Internet/new media. Master Burnett has also served as an adjunct professor of management at San Francisco State University, where he taught courses on managing technology in human resources and as an Technology Analyst covering the enterprise software industry.

Ross Clennett

As a professional recruiter, between 1989 and 2003, Ross screened over 80,000 resumes, interviewed over 3,000 people and successfully placed over 500 people in work. Over this time he worked in London, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.

Since 2001, Ross's opinion pieces and skill development articles have been regularly published in recruitment industry magazines and on specialist recruitment websites, both in Australia, UK, South Africa and in the USA. Through his speaking, training and coaching business, RossClennett.com, Ross provides expertise in the areas of recruitment skills, recruitment trends and the recruitment industry in Australia.

Ross holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tasmania and is certified as a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

In 2009, Ross launched Australia's first professional development website for recruitment company owners and managers which provides a variety of training and strategic resources in various multimedia formats.

Sharon Tan

Sharon Tan joined the ANZ as the Global Head of Recruitment and Resourcing Services in April 2009. She is a member of the HRSS Global Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the Global Recruitment Teams (Fulfillment teams as well as the Centres of Expertise consulting team) across the 30 countries in attracting and retaining the best talent to meet the Group's ongoing plans for the ongoing Super Regional Strategy.

Armed with over eighteen years of human resource experience, Sharon has worked for leading global multi-national corporations, including RBS, Accenture, Coopers & Lybrand and RGM International, in various HR leadership capacities across the HR functions and covering regions like South America, Europe and extensively across the Asia Pacific area - including Japan and Australia.

Outside interests include time spent with her 3 nephews who live in Australia, traveling as well as being actively involved in house building trips to Cambodia in support of local charity - Tabitha Cambodia. Sharon was previously based in Asia and only moved to Australia in her current role and if fluent in both English and Mandarin (Chinese).

Simon Cariss

Simon Cariss is one of the founders of PageUp People. Today, Simon is a key driving force of PageUp People, setting the strategic direction of product development of the PageUp People suite of web-based talent management solutions.

With over 10 year’s experience in the development and implementation of Talent Management software and services PageUp People are at the forefront of innovative technology. The ever increasing choice of new technology tools coming into the market place makes it very difficult for HR Professionals to keep up with the latest trends and developments.

Simon's passion for the company and innovative new technology has been publicly acknowledged with PageUp People receiving the B3000 Innovation Award in 2006 and frequently delivering first to market innovative solutions.

Simon is formally qualified with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Swinburne University as well as a Certificate, Venture Capital Executive Program, 2000 from University of California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business.

Tanyth Lloyd Brown

Tanyth Lloyd Brown is the National Recruitment and Sourcing Leader for Deloitte which is considered to be one of Australia’s best Recruitment Functions. She has a background in audit, treasury, systems implementation, process improvement, project management and executive search.

Tanyth currently leads the National Recruitment and Sourcing Team with responsibility for delivery of the Experienced Hire recruitment strategy, firm wide workforce planning, EVP, strategic sourcing/talent acquisition, recruitment and sourcing technology, reporting/metrics and vendor/contract management (including onsite managed solution).

Tara Knobel

Tara has worked with Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS) for ten years and has experience of working across a range of AMS solutions including contingent recruitment, permanent recruitment and consulting. Tara is currently the Head of Projects & Consulting within AMS across the Asia Pacific region. In this role, Tara is responsible for managing the AMS consulting portfolio in Asia Pacific including business process consulting, implementation, technology, business intelligence and talent management. Tara is a founding member of AMS’s Innovation Lab and her selection in this role is a testament to the thought leadership, innovation and creativity that she offers to both AMS and their clients.

Most recently, Tara has managed the end-to-end solution architecture and implementation of a contingent workforce RPO model for Origin Energy that will see the AMS team hiring over 1500 contractors per annum. She is responsible for engagement with key Origin Energy stakeholders, overseeing operational performance and leading the AMS team.

Prior to this Tara was involved in the implementation and management a number of significant RPO projects for AMS’s clients in the Asia Pacific region including GE Capital, ANZ, Westpac, Hewlett-Packard, and Suncorp. Tara has also lead delivery of independent consulting assignments including contingent workforce audits, recruitment process design, flexibility programmes, and technology implementation and optimisations for clients such as PwC, ANZ, Westpac, PwC, HP, International SOS, Transfield Services and Railcorp.

Prior to returning to Australia in 2004, Tara worked across a range of contingent workforce solutions for AMS providing support with the establishment of contingent workforce supplier management programmes, managing the compliance and contractual engagement of contingent workers, and delivering contingent workforce consulting and audits.

Prior to working for AMS, Tara worked as a procurement professional with BHP Billiton, Fairfax and Prudential.

Tara has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of International Business.

Trevor Vas

Trevor has worked in the Recruitment, Information Technology and the Finance industries in various professional consulting roles. He is a recognised leader in human capital management for large organisations and is an active speaker at industry conferences in Australia and New Zealand. In his previous role, Trevor was the Managing Director of an Australasian consultancy business that consulted and operated Managing Vendors at many of Australia's and New Zealand's largest organisations.

Since the establishment of HCMS, Trevor has consulted to BHP, Coles Myer, Crown Casino, ASB Bank and Waitemata and Auckland District Health Boards in relation to their enterprise recruitment models including Recruitment Technology, Recruitment Processes, Preferred Recruitment Supplier Agreements and implementing and optimising Recruitment Centres.

Trevor is a subject matter expert in Recruitment Technology and Resource Management and has assisted many organisations to improve their effectiveness in these areas.
