Crossing the Talent Chasm To A Post-GFC World: Better People. Better Results.
Never let it be said that we live in uninteresting times! Recruiting, employee and leadership development, as well as succession planning and performance management are all undergoing rapid change.
The usual tools and practices are suspect. Sourcing talent is moving toward social networks leaving the role of job boards in question. Email is getting to be old hat and Twitter has gained new respect as a recruiting tool. Organisations are challenged to find the best way to develop leaders when the usual financial measures are in doubt. Generational issues and organisational restructuring are changing the talent requirements for many firms and upsetting the careful planning of a few years ago.
In some areas we face massive talent shortages and in other areas we have a surfeit of talent. Some organisations are top heavy with Baby Boomers who are not inclined to retire quite yet, given the economy. Yet other firms are struggling to find enough interested and qualified graduates.
The fourth annual Australasian Talent Conference in Sydney in 2010 will take on these issues with a slate of speakers and workshop presenters from around the globe. Talent management is crossing over into new territory and we will need scouts and guides to help us make the journey. That’s why we are calling this year’s conference Crossing the Talent Chasm To A Post-GFC World: Better People. Better Results.
This year’s speakers address a range of issues from social media and employment branding to leadership development, virtual recruiting and learning environments. And, while we will provide you with tangible tools and actionable ideas, we also want to stretch your thinking.
As Albert Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it.” So our hope is that is that we will give you ideas and introduce technologies that are outside the box and that will provide a different perspective on the issues.
Please join us for the single best talent experience of the year.
